If your net pay changed, this guide explains what to check first.
Most common reasons net pay changes
- Benefits elections changed (Open Enrollment or Life Event)
- Tax withholding updates (W-4 changes)
- One-time deductions (arrears, benefit true-up)
- Garnishment or child support order (court-directed)
What to do
- Compare the current paystub to the previous one (same earnings period if possible).
- Identify the line item name of the deduction.
- If you still have questions, submit a Payroll ticket and include the pay date and the deduction name (do not include full SSN).
