PTO Basics: Accrual, Carryover, and Caps

Where to see your balance

In Paylocity: Time & Labor > Time Off (menu names may vary).

Key concepts

• Accrual: PTO is earned each pay period based on policy and eligibility.
• Carryover: some PTO may carry into the next year up to a maximum.
• Caps: once you hit a cap, accrual may pause until you use PTO.

Approvals

Your manager approves PTO timing and scheduling. HR supports policy questions and exceptions.
