Adding or Removing Dependents in Paylocity

Use this article when you need to add, remove, or correct dependent details for benefits enrollment.

What you’ll need

• Dependent legal name and date of birth
• Address (if different)
• SSN (may be required for medical coverage)

Steps in Paylocity

1. Go to Benefits > Dependents.
2. Select Add Dependent (or edit an existing record).
3. Enter details and save.
4. If prompted, upload verification documentation.

Common issues

• Duplicate dependent: check spelling, hyphens, and dates of birth.
• Document rejected: ensure the file is readable and includes the dependent name and event date.
